Christine Coles has an undergraduate Degree in Interior Architecture and a MSc in the Theory & Practice of Sustainable Design from the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff, Wales. A deep love of nature was formed from spending summers camping with family. This love of nature and passion for design developed into a career in Sustainability, building healthy homes that people feel comfortable in.

After completing her degrees, she worked in the construction industry as a sustainable cabinet specialist on renovations and new builds. Then as an Energy Advisor working with BC Energy Step Code which aims to have all new construction buildings in BC Net Zero by 2032.

While studying, she noticed that there is a wealth of academic information that is not circulating into the public sphere. We face complex challenges as a society, which can be scary

and bring up deep emotions. Christine volunteers her time to facilitate workshops that give people the tools & knowledge to help deal with these complex Climate Emotions in community libraries throughout the lower mainland. She also repurposes second-hand clothes into new and creative outfits.

We need new ways of doing things and Innovative approaches are essential. As a natural systems thinker, she is an advocate of holistic design processes. Christine encourages her students to have a vision of the whole while figuring out the details.
