Glynis Tao
Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Glynis developed an early interest in fashion design. From her very first sewing class, she knew this was the career path she wanted to pursue. After finishing high school, she took the first step in her journey by enrolling in the Fashion program at Kwantlen College. She later enhanced her skills and education by attending the Fashion Design program at Ryerson University in Toronto, where she earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Fashion Design.
Glynis brings a wealth of fashion industry knowledge, having worked with major brands such as Club Monaco and Reebok before successfully running her own clothing design company for over 10 years.
Currently, she works as a business consultant and SEO specialist for fashion e-commerce companies and serves as a board member of BC Apparel and Gear. She has been sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of apparel professionals as an instructor at LaSalle College since 2021.
Her areas of expertise include technical design, product development, garment manufacturing, fabric sourcing, new business development, and search engine optimization.
Glynis has been featured on the front pages of the business sections of the Vancouver Sun, National Post, and The Globe & Mail, and has been interviewed on CBC Radio.
