Kiran Joseph
Kiran is a seasoned academician and designer with over seven years of experience both in the education sector and in the industry. Currently serving as the Faculty Lead in Interior Design, she combines her expertise with a deep passion for educating and inspiring the next generation of designers.
With a Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) in Interior Design from SRM University and a Master’s in Interior and Product Design from Scuola Politecnico di Milano in Italy, Kiran has honed her expertise in commercial, corporate, and healthcare design. She is passionate about space planning, detailed designs
and drawings and she is dedicated to fostering creativity and critical thinking in her students, encouraging them to explore innovative solutions and push the boundaries of design.
During her tenure as an Assistant Professor in Manipal University, she has assisted and developed the Bachelors
and Master programs in Interior Design, preparing program outcomes and syllabi for an Outcome Based Education system.
Among her contributions to the field, Kiran has designed innovative medical products, including a gait-assisted toy for children with cerebral palsy. She is also the holder of a design patent for the medical instrument “Disimpaction Trauma Forceps”.
Proficient in industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp, Kiran leverages technology to enhance her design processes and teaching methodologies. Her commitment to excellence in design and education continues to inspire her students and colleagues alike, as she strives to cultivate a dynamic learning environment that champions creativity, sustainability, and social impact.
