Robert Stefanson
Robert arrives at LaSalle College Vancouver with over fifteen years of experience working in the music business. He has also spent seven years working in higher education as Campus Director of both Nimbus School or Recording & Media, as well as Red Academy. Robert graduated from The Centre for Digital Imaging & Sound in 2001 with a Diploma in Recording Arts. He spent 7 years working at Armoury Studios as a recording engineer, where he had the opportunity to work on productions for independent and major label artists from around the world. He also was Head Engineer for the 2010 Winter Olympics Opening and Closing ceremonies which was broadcast to fifty million viewers around the world.
At that same time, he started teaching Audio Engineering and Music Production at Nimbus School of Recording & Media where he progressed to the Head Instructor role, managing all academic staff and curriculum development. When asked about his experience and philosophy, he states that, “As a Program Director, I love seeing the transformation that takes place for those on their student journey. I have taught and facilitated learning, designed curricula, managed instructional staff and subject matter experts, run the daily operations of schools, and overseen the student experience. My greatest joy is working with people, students and faculty alike, as well as listening with an open ear to learn, understand, and provide clarity and direction with empathy and integrity.”.
