Shripal Shah
Shripal Shah is an Interior Designer based in Vancouver. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Furniture Design from MIT Institute of Design, India, where he won the department excellence award for the best Graduation Project, 2015. Furthermore, he has earned his Masters Degree in Interior Architecture from the Royal Academy of Art, the Hague, Netherlands in 2020. His research and theory intensive master’s program allowed him to draw parallels between his thesis project and his practice.
With a dynamic career of over 6 years, he has led several design projects of various scales and complexities across retail, commercial, residential, healthcare and hospitality programs. As an Intermediate Interior Designer and Project Coordinator in his previous position, Shripal led a team of 5 architects and designers, and was responsible for spearheading (and winning) the design competition for a 300 bed student housing project in Bangalore. He has also been instrumental in the design and development of key healthcare projects in India. Shripal enjoys critical thinking in his discipline and explores his own design enquiries through his projects.
Shripal has also had experience in design education when he served as an academic associate for a Mixed Used Design Studio at the Faculty of Design, CEPT University. He has also worked as a Teaching Assistant while studying at the Royal Academy of Art, where he was responsible for lesson planning, lecture coordination and classroom administration.
As an Interior Design Faculty at LaSalle College Vancouver, Shripal hopes to bring forth his diverse professional experience and his unique perspective to the education paradigm. Currently he is pursuing the BC Building Code course at BCIT in order to upskill himself, and he will also be working towards obtaining his NCIDQ certification. In his free time, Shripal loves to cook, visit contemporary art galleries and go on hikes, hence choosing to settle in Vancouver.
