What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of?

Building the physical studio and building up the business to where it is at today.

What are your creative inspirations or influences? Who are your heroes?

I am creatively inspired by good sounding recordings with great production. Doesn’t matter who did them. Dave Pensado is could be described as an audio hero.

What do you enjoy the most about your career?

That I am resposible for making my own success. Also that I get to do so many different things with recording as well as running the business.

How did your education at LaSalle College Vancouver help prepare you for your career?

It helped give me a wide range of audio-related skills to pull from no matter what project comes into the studio.

What advice do you have for people beginning their careers in your profession?

Put extra work in. Go way further than you think you need to and don’t put out anything that you aren’t happy with the sound.

Your profession is constantly evolving, from the technology you use to new career opportunities that didn’t exist five years ago. What trends do you see on the horizon that will affect how you do your job or your profession at-large?

I think the home recording thing can deter people from going into the studio, but I think always a skilled engineer with a nice sounding room will be better, so it’s just about educating people. I think as the technology gets better, home recording will as well, which will continue to affect studios.
