Describe a Typical Work Day:

A typical work day consists of communicating with the marketing team to discuss needs of the brands, and designing a variety of materials for different brands of the company.

What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of?

think my accomplishment is the fact that I am able to apply my skills in the food/restaurant industry, which is another big interest of mine. What are your creative inspirations or influences? Who are your heroes? For me, inspiration comes from doing my hobbies and getting out to see different things. Anyone with clever design concepts can potentially be my hero.

What do you enjoy the most about your career?

Producing visually-appealing pieces that are effective and are able to communicate the intended message.

How did your education at LaSalle College Vancouver help prepare you for your career?

LaSalle College Vancouver provided the training that is the standard of the industry, allowing me to apply those skills to my current working environment.

What advice do you have for people beginning their careers in your profession?

I would suggest not doing spec work (unless it is for a non-profit organization), because you deserve to be paid for the skills you have.

Your profession is constantly evolving, from the technology you use to new career opportunities that didn’t exist five years ago. What trends do you see on the horizon that will affect how you do your job or your profession at-large?

Of course, the digitization of design. In the future, there will be less print and more digital applications. We will need to change the way we look at the different mediums of design.
