Chef George Gardiner - Culinary Faculty

Chef George Gardiner

Scottish-born Chef George Gardiner began his culinary education in the United Kingdom, where he completed his City and Guilds of London Cooking Certificate 147-151; Certified Hospitality Supervisor; Serve it Safe; and Public Health Certification.

Chef Gardiner’s global training in England, Scotland and Switzerland has given him the opportunity to gain valuable chef experience in various 3-star restaurants, including Interlaken in Switzerland and the opportunity to take part in launching the Cunard Cruise Liner Queen Elizabeth II.

He moved to Canada over 30 years ago as a sought after European-trained chef. He has worked as Executive Chef and Sous Chef at the Westin Bayshore, Holiday Inn, Pacific Inn Hotel and Grouse Mountain Ski Resorts.

Chef Gardiner also has extensive experience working on cruise ships as Executive Chef with Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International and Carnival Cruise Lines. This opportunity has allowed him to travel all over the world.

Chef Gardiner finds pleasure in passing on his culinary skills to his students. Nurturing aspiring chefs and their progress in culinary programs, and assisting them in continually developing new skills, brings him great personal satisfaction as an instructor and mentor. His students benefit tremendously from the wealth of culinary industry experience and knowledge he brings to his position at The International Culinary School at LaSalle College Vancouver.
