Corey Klassen - Interior Design Faculty

Corey Klassen

(he/they) Corey began their interior design career in 1992 with an internship at Cortinage & Co Architects (Winnipeg, MB) at just 17 years old. With nearly 20 years of professional experience, he started Articulated Design Studio in 2011 (nee Corey Klassen Interior Design) winning 17 notable design awards and has been featured in international publications. Their design studio focuses on kitchen and bath design and renovation design, with projects in corporate and wellness workplaces along with exhibit design projects and other small commercial projects.

Corey comes from a long line of creatives from draftspeople to artists. With formative years in Southeastern Manitoba and Winnipeg, they always found something to construct, whether it was in the sandbox, LEGO, or painting. Much of these formations lent Corey naturally to architectural drafting and graphic design, notably earning an internship at Cortinage & Co Architects (Winnipeg, MB) at just 17 years old. Corey attended the School of Art at the University of Manitoba and completed the NKBA Accredited Kitchen and Bath Design program at Vancouver Community College, having been awarded Outstanding Young Alumnus with Honors and Distinction. Corey holds professional certificates as a Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer (CMKBD), an NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer, an Educator Professional with IIDA, and an Accredited Member of the Designer and Decorators Association of Canada (DDA). They are also an ongoing NKBA Instructor and Subject Matter Expert, recently completing the Kitchen & Bath Planning Guidelines with Support Spaces & Accessibility (4th ed.) as a content coordinator.

Off the drafting table, Corey is an avid road/gravel cyclist, works along with their partner, and is active with Vancouver's 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
