VANCOUVER, B.C. — August 28 — LaSalle College Vancouver has been selected as the training institution for the fully funded Culinary Arts Level 1 Certificate training offered by the B.C. Career Colleges Association (BCCCA), with funding provided by the B.C. Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills and the Community Workforce Response Grant.
The 6-month program will run from October 5, 2026, to March 19, 2027, and is open to Lower Mainland residents.
Graduates of the program will receive a Culinary Arts Level 1 Certificate from LaSalle College Vancouver and will be prepared for entry-level roles such as line cook, prep cook, short-order cook, and catering assistant. These roles span a wide range of employers, including restaurants, hotels, catering companies, hospitals, long-term care homes, and educational institutions — sectors currently facing strong demand for trained food-service workers across British Columbia.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person entitled to work in Canada
- Reside in British Columbia and have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- Be at least 16 years old at the start of training
- Have graduated Grade 12 (or equivalent), or be a mature student aged 19 or older at program start
- Demonstrate English language proficiency
