Cookies, Characters, and a Triple Win: Joyce Tansil Takes Home 3 Indigo Design Awards for The Bon Ton Cookie Club
Bachelor of Graphic Design alumna Joyce Baby Jeeriany Tansil earned Silver across three categories — Branding, Logos, and Packaging Design — at the 2026 Indigo Design Awards for her project The Bon Ton Cookie Club.

What does old-money charm look like on a cookie box? For Joyce Baby Jeeriany Tansil, it looks like a tennis player mid-swing, a socialite stealing the show, and a man leaning against a flashy car — all rendered in muted greens, navies, and reds, with just enough wit to make you read every word on the packaging.
The Bon Ton Cookie Club is a student branding and packaging project that transforms everyday cookies into members of an exclusive social club. Each flavour comes with its own character, its own colour, and its own story. The Pistachio Cookie gets the competitive tennis player ("Game, Set, Snack!"). The Truffle Cookie Bar gets the glamorous socialite ("She's the Cookie That Steals the Show"). The Crème Brûlée Cookie gets the power shopper ("Who Needs Retail Therapy… When You Have Cookie Therapy?"). And stamped across every pack: "Baked for Society's Finest."
The result is a brand that is as clever as it is cohesive — elegant enough to feel premium, playful enough to make you smile.

Branding as Storytelling
What sets The Bon Ton Cookie Club apart is how fully realized the concept is — every detail considered, from the serif club-style logotype to the loose, expressive handwritten copy on each box.
"The Bon Ton Cookie Club was created as a playful lifestyle brand that turns everyday cookies into something more expressive and memorable," Joyce explains. "I wanted the design to feel fun, charming, and full of personality, using storytelling to give the brand a sense of character and identity."

A Step Forward in Her Creative Journey
For Joyce, the three Indigo Awards mark something bigger than recognition — they mark a direction.
"Receiving an Indigo Design Award is very meaningful to me as a young designer," she reflects. "Winning this award brings recognition to my work and marks an encouraging step in my creative journey. It motivates me to keep exploring my own ideas and continue growing."
"Through this design, I hope people see how thoughtful branding can transform even simple, everyday products into something engaging and full of personality."

Membership to The Bon Ton Cookie Club may be exclusive — but the talent behind it is something LaSalle is proud to share with the world. Congratulations to Joyce and to the faculty whose mentorship made this possible.
