LaSalle College Vancouver (LCV) welcomed guests to its new campus on Saturday, March 14, co‑hosting the Taste of France event as an official partner of the 47th Vancouver International Wine Festival.
The walk‑around lunch showcased 19 French wineries representing seven regions, paired with classic French bistro dishes prepared and served by students from the Hospitality and Culinary school. The event was held on the closing day of this year's festival, which celebrated France as its theme country.
Students delivered the full service experience, from passed hors d’oeuvres and hot and cold plates to house‑made sweet treats for guests to take home. Working under the guidance of Chef Julian Bond, Program Director, Hospitality and Culinary, and Chef Mandy Vial, Baking and Pastry Arts Lead, they transformed the new campus’s main floor into a professional‑grade culinary venue.
For the Hospitality and Culinary school, the event offered a rare opportunity to execute a real catering service for an audience of more than a hundred guests, including sommeliers, wine industry representatives, and food enthusiasts who expect excellence. It exemplifies the hands‑on, industry‑connected learning that defines LCV’s Culinary programs.
The collaboration with the Vancouver International Wine Festival is an example of the industry‑facing opportunities the school is expanding, providing students with unparalleled access to real industry environments. It’s a partnership that opens doors, builds confidence, and showcases the talent emerging from LaSalle College Vancouver’s new campus
