What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of?

One of my greatest accomplishments is the ability to have a career in an artistic field, where I can make a living doing something I love.

What are your creative inspirations or influences? Who are your heroes?

This is something that changes every day, sometimes multiple times a day.
There is so much to learn, so many amazing ideas and so many outstanding examples of artists and their art.

What do you enjoy the most about your career?

I enjoy working at a career where I can collaborate with other creative minds on fantastic projects. I have worked on many productions including The Possession; Continuum; Apollo 18; Beyond the Black Rainbow; A Beginners Guide to Endings; Defendor; and While She Was Out. I also appreciate that my work place allows me to have a balance of work and family.

How did your education at LaSalle College Vancouver help prepare you for your career?

LaSalle College Vancouver provided me with a basic knowledge of film production and storytelling. The computer labs provided me with 24 hour access to learn what I needed, when I needed it, and film equipment access allowed me to learn necessary skills needed for the industry.

What advice do you have for people beginning their careers in your profession?

Do as much as you can in school and make the most of every learning opportunity before getting into the profession. The long hours I spent in the labs and volunteering on small film projects, served as a great introduction to the industry.

Your profession is constantly evolving, from the technology you use to new career opportunities that didn’t exist five years ago. What trends do you see on the horizon that will affect how you do your job or your profession at-large?

The industry is ever changing and morphing. Regardless of trends, selfmotivation allows for continued professional development, which is important to stay current.
