Recognized for her dedication to cultivating authentic professional relationships based on respect, trust, and confidence, she loves engaging with people to understand their requirements and bring their vision to life. Shelja has over four years’ experience managing commercial, healthcare, and retail projects inspired by different styles and cultures. She designs unique spaces that flawlessly fuse form and function. Originally from India, she completed her Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2017 from University School of Architecture and Planning, GGSIPU, New Delhi. From there, she moved on to practice in a locally recognized firm for two years where she worked on multiple commercial interior large scale projects, from design to execution, with overall management. Working with people from various backgrounds imparted her with dexterity, social cognizance, flawless communication, and endurance to handle the pressure.

To pursue her passion further in design, she immigrated to Canada in 2019 to earn a Master’s degree in Interior Design at University of Manitoba. With receiving numerous scholarships, she also assisted in teaching and grading the Environmental Technology course to first year Bachelor of Environmental Design students. With her ability to easily connect with students, great problem-solving skills, and her strong interest and love for teaching, she has now joined LaSalle College Vancouver as an Interior Design Instructor. She enjoys the challenge of teaching students academically but also helping them to thrive socially.
