If you’re an interior designer in Vancouver, chances are you’ve already heard of Designer Happy Hour, the social gathering putting design at the heart of the city’s creative community. Created by Todd Mitchell, Amber Kingsnorth, and Julie Miller, it was born to give Vancouver’s design, art, and creative industries a space to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen a vibrant, collaborative network.

Last month, that connection reached new heights—literally—on the rooftop of LaSalle College Vancouver’s brand-new campus. Our Interior Design students were fully involved, volunteering throughout the event and engaging directly with professionals from across the industry.
“Design Happy Hour is more than a gathering of design professionals—it serves as a bridge between education and industry,” says Kiran Joseph, Interior Design Lead. “For our students, these moments are an invaluable chance to connect, learn directly from practicing professionals, and build confidence as they grow their networks.”

Beneath the striking architecture of LaSalle College’s new campus, envisioned by TOAD Design, the evening came full circle: the building, industry professionals, and our students all came together in celebration of design. With lively conversations, panoramic views, and a golden-hour skyline as the backdrop, one thing was clear: Vancouver’s interior design community is thriving, powered by the next generation of innovative designers.
