About the Program

The Foundations program is an introductory and intensive study of traditional principles of drawing, colour theory, design fundamentals, applied design, and sculpture with an emphasis on how those principles apply to digital imaging and media arts.

  • Digital Tool Expertise: Use digital tools for imaing, animation, and compositing proficiently to produce high-quality visual content.

Career Prospects

The Foundations in Media Arts program is designed as an in-school pre-requisite. It is otherwise suitable for those already in the Media Arts industry who want to hone their foundational skills.

It has been determined that a laptop is required for this program. If using a Mac, learners may need to configure their Mac laptop to run software on Windows. 

PC - Minimum Requirements: 

  • Intel Core i7 processor or equivalent 
  • 16 GB of RAM or more 
  • 512 GB or larger SSD (Solid State Drive) 
  • NVIDIA RTX GPU or an equivalent graphics card 
  • Windows 11 (Home, Education, or Pro versions). 

Mac - Minimum Requirements:

  • 512 GB or larger SSD (Solid State Drive) 

PC - Recommended Requirements: 

  • Intel Core i7 processor or equivalent 
  • 32 GB of RAM or more

  • Windows 11 (Home, Education, or Pro versions).

Admissions Criteria

  • Domestic applicants generally require:

     • Proof of Secondary Graduation or equivalent,

    • Government photo ID.

     • Proof of Secondary Graduation or equivalent in English (official translations),

    • Photocopy of valid Passport,

    • Proof of English language proficiency,

    • Photocopy of valid Study Permit.
