Ilan Bitterman, a passionate architect, was born and raised
in Mexico City’s megalopolis. He has over 24 years of global industry experience and six years of dedicated teaching experience across various academic institutions.
His architectural journey began under the mentorship of the renowned architect and educator Peter Eisenman. Initially, he was Peter’s student in an exchange program at the University of Arkansas, and later, he became an intern at Eisenman’s New York office. For one year, he contributed to landmark projects such as the Cardinal Stadium in Glendale, Arizona; the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, Germany; and the City of Culture in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
After graduating with honours from Anahuac University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s in Architecture, Ilan continued his academic pursuit with a Master of Arts in Conservation and Regeneration (Historical Buildings) from The University of Sheffield in 2015, achieving merit. His commitment to fight against global warming led him to graduate as a Sustainable Construction Manager from Okanagan College in 2022.
Since founding his practice in 2005, Ilan has successfully delivered countless design-build projects, including interior design and custom furniture. His portfolio ranges from residential to commercial, but his specialization’s core has been providing construction managerial services for esteemed investment groups. Noticeable achievements include managing high-rise construction projects in cities like Puebla, Acapulco, and Mexico City with prominent commissions like Artesia Polanco, Museo Amparo, and Costaventura.
Ilan is deeply committed to sustainability and advancing a greener future for our building environment. In his words,
“We are amid a paradigm shift that will redefine the architectural discourse forever, akin to the industrial revolution that resulted in the early XX century modern movement. It will require all our ingenuity, passion, and determination to shape our consciousness around NetPositive, which is why I love teaching and fostering dialogue among the new generations of our industry.
